風流　Furyu

Cultured Furyu refers to the capacity to enjoy beautiful things such as the sight of the full moon on a clear autumn night.
A person who can properly savor things is called furyujin, a person of culture.
The ideograms for furyu mean “flow with the wind” and a true furyujin can express his or her appreciation of traditional Japanese beauty in a seemingly effortless way, as the wind blows.

「風流」は時代ごとに意味が変っていました。
平安時代は　貴族階級の美意識を表すものでしたが、その後、人目を引く趣向といった意味になりました。
平安末期以後には、祭礼の山車や衣装などに施された華美な趣向を指して「風流」と呼ぶようになりました。
侘び・寂びと対極にある俗なものが「風流」でした。
