This is a statue of Takeda Shingen which stands in front of Kofu Station.
Takeda Shingen (1521-1573) was a “Daimyo” (regional lord) of the Sengoku period (or Warring States period from mid-15th to early 17th century).
He led a powerful cavalry and was feared as the “Tiger of Kai Province.”
The photo shows Shingen wearing his famed “Suwa Hosho” helmet. ‪#‎Samurai‬
