うつ（空）とうつつ（現）の国、ニッポン　　　

The Floating World

日本に住んでいることは、浅い夢の世界に生きているようである。
私はしばしば何が「うつつ（現）」で、何が「うつ（空）」かわからなくなる時がある。
幻覚ではなく世界はそこにある。
まるで私がはじめて観たukiyoe（浮世絵）のイメージの中にいるかのように思えることがある。
それは、フローティングな世界、うつ（空）と、うつつ（現）の狭間を歩くことに似ている。

The Floating World 
Living in Japan is like living in a dream world.
I often don’t know what is real and what is illusion.
It’s like walking in a floating world, as if I was inside an ukiyoe’s image.
